Siliguri Metropolitan Police organizes Blood Donation Camp in Pradhan Nagar police station

Siliguri, 12th March: A Blood donation Camp “UTSARGA” an initiative of the Chief Minister of West Bengal was organized by Siliguri Metropolitan Police, in collaboration with the Siliguri Terai Lions Club and Desun Hospital Siliguri, in Pradhan Nagar police station today. Besides the blood donation camp, a free health check-up camp was also organized. Siliguri Metropolitan Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma inaugurated the camps by cutting the ribbon.


Addressing the media on the occasion, Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma said that the Utsarga scheme has been initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Under this scheme, blood donation camps are being organized in all the police stations on Saturdays. Due to this, the relationship between the police and the public is also getting better, he further added. 


The Commissioner also said that a target has been set to collect about 100 units of blood in the camp under the leadership of IC of Pradhan Nagar Police Station.
