Siliguri, 14th November: ‘Sammaner Bari’ (House of Honor), a special initiative taken on behalf of Siliguri Metropolitan Police, was inaugurated on Sunday. The initiative has been taken for the elderly people of the city.
The Siliguri Metropolitan Police and the Rotary Club of Uttarayan have built this new home inside Uttarayan Township. The senior citizens of the city can go here and spend time. This club is specially made for those who stay alone at home. Various arrangements have been made there for their entertainment and well-being.
Police Commissioner Gourav Sharma inaugurated ‘Sammaner Bari’ in Siliguri’s Uttarayan Township, on Sunday. He urged all senior citizens to get the membership done. A phone number has also been provided on behalf of the police. Upon contacting the number, the police officials will visit the respective residences and enroll them as members of the house. Senior citizens will be able to visit and spend time at this new home inside Uttarayan Township. He further said that from now on, regular communication will be made with the house members, and all their issues will be looked into with proper care.
