Siliguri, 20th December: Mithun Paul, a resident of Hakimpara in Siliguri, lost one lakh rupees after falling prey to cybercrime.
Mithun Paul alleged that he received numerous calls after he applied for a credit card recently. On December 16, he received a call from an unknown number where the details of his credit card such as the 16 digit number, address, and name were mentioned. After he requested a change in his platinum card, he received an OTP on his phone number. After providing the OTP over the call, one lakh rupees was immediately deducted from his card.
The victim lodged a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police station after the incident.
