Siliguri man detained for impersonating as an employee of Siliguri’s postal department

Siliguri, 06th March: Sensation prevailed after a man, named Debesh Chandra Dhar, was detained for impersonating as an employee of Siliguri’s postal department. Reportedly, Dhar is a resident of Haidar Para, Siliguri. The incident occurred in front of the main Post office near Siliguri’s Court More.


As per the report, the aforementioned man used to sit in front of the post office for the past few days. Impersonating as an employee of the postal department, he helped the customers deposit and withdraw their money from their account.

Asma Bibi, a resident of Siliguri’s Shantipara, used to take the help of Dhar while depositing her money. It has been alleged that Dhar withdrew around Rs 45,000 from her account but never returned the money. Therefore, Asma Bibi and many other agitated women of the area, tied Dhar to a tree in front of the post office, on Friday and reported the incident to the Police.


The Police reached the spot and took the accused to the Police station.
