Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad presents ₹130 crore budget for 2025-26

Siliguri, 04th March: The budget for Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad was presented on Tuesday in the meeting room of the Parishad.

Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh, Saha-Sabhadhipati Roma Reshmi Ekka, Secretary Uton Sherpa, and other officials were present during the session.

Addressing the media after the budget presentation, Arun Ghosh stated that a budget of ₹130 crore has been set for 2025-26. The Parishad will primarily focus on education, health, and beautification.

Additionally, rural development has been prioritized, with special emphasis on sports. Small indoor stadiums will be constructed in multiple areas under the Mahakuma Parishad, featuring facilities for swimming, gyms, and various sports.

Ghosh highlighted that last year’s budget was ₹131 crore, but this year it has decreased by ₹1 crore. He attributed this reduction to the state government not receiving funds from several central government schemes, which has impacted both the state government and the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad.
