Siliguri Horticulture Society to organize a 5-day flower festival in Siliguri from Feb 13

Siliguri, 10th February: The biggest 5-day flower festival of the North-East region is set to begin on February 13 at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium and will continue up to February 17. This year marks the 36th year of the said festival.


At a press conference, President of the Siliguri Horticulture Society and Ward No. 12 Councillor, Nantu Pal and General Secretary Prashanta Sen stated that a total of 83 stalls will be set up at the flower festival. Around 38 stalls are expected to come from the hills and 40 stalls from the plains. A seminar will also be held on strawberry cultivation and flower cultivation in North Bengal. In addition to the flower display, fruits and flower plant saplings will also be sold. Reportedly, the society has been demanding a flower market in the city for a long time but has not received any response from the government. Secretary Prashanta Sen further stated they would appeal to the state government again regarding the issue.

The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb, North Bengal Developmental Minister Rabindranath Ghosh, Banga Ratna winner Bharatiya Ghosh and many other dignitaries will be present at the inaugural function of the fair on February 13. Various cultural events will also be held during the 5-day festival.
