Siliguri Cricket Lovers Association sent a letter to CM demanding National Cricket Ground in Siliguri

Siliguri, 21st September: The Siliguri Cricket Lovers Association addressed a letter to the Chief Minister through State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb with a demand to construct a National Cricket Ground in Siliguri.


According to the association, many talented players from North Bengal have participated in national and international competitions and have made the entire nation proud. However, they are facing extreme difficulties due to the absence of cricket grounds.

In this context, minister Goutam Deb assured of looking into the matter. He stated that at present, cricket and football competitions are being organized at the Siliguri Kanchenjunga stadium. Earlier too, various organizations had issued letters demanding construction of a stadium in Siliguri.


Manoj Barma, a member of the Siliguri Cricket Lovers Association, stated that a letter has been sent to the CM with a demand to construct a National Cricket ground in Kawakhali’s 15 acres land.
