Sikkim flash flood: NH 10 damaged, bus service from Siliguri’s SNT bus stand suspended

Siliguri, 04th October: The Siliguri-Sikkim National Highway (NH 10) has been damaged at several locations following the disastrous flash flood at the Teesta River in Sikkim. Following this, the road communication between Siliguri and Sikkim has come to a complete standstill.  Keeping in mind the safety of passengers and tourists going to Sikkim, all bus services from Siliguri have been suspended.


According to reports, the bus services from Sikkim Nationalized Transport (SNT) Bus Terminal will remain closed until further notice. Since Wednesday morning, all the buses were seen parked at the terminal. Meanwhile, a large number of commuters and tourists were witnessed stranded at the bus terminal. However, small vehicles are plying to Sikkim via alternative routes with increased fares resulting in hardships for the passengers.
