Siliguri, 19th March: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Siliguri assembly seat Shankar Ghosh commenced campaigning since this morning.
The BJP candidate toured Samar Nagar in Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, marching to the beat of ‘dhol-nagara’. He greeted the local people of the area and appealed for their votes. Ghosh was accompanied by the party supporters.
Addressing the media, Shankar Ghosh said that he received immense respect and affection from the BJP workers. This has made him feel like he has been a part of the party for many years.
After the announcement of Shankar Ghosh as the BJP candidate, news of disagreement within the party had surfaced. Ghosh refused to comment on the matter and stated that the party’s Siliguri Organizational District President Praveen Agarwal will address the issue.
