Siliguri, 24th September: SFI Attharakhai Anchal committee staged demonstrations against the difficulties faced by the students of the Atharakhai region. A memorandum was also handed over to Matigara BDO on behalf of the organization.
The organization members stated that Balasan Upper Primary School is the only school that is situated in the aforementioned area. Due to the absence of a degree college, the students have to travel long distances to pursue higher education. Hence, demands to convert Balasan Upper Primary School into a high school as well as to establish a degree college in the area were presented through the memorandum.
