SFI demands refund of college admission fees

Siliguri, 24th August: The Students’ Federation of India has been constantly raising voice for the past several weeks demanding the waiver of school-college-university fees amid the ongoing pandemic. Besides, they also demanded a waiver of college admission fees.


As per the report, on August 13, the state government decided to waive the college admission as well as the application fee. However, several students had already submitted the applications and fees before the announcement.

On behalf of the Darjeeling District Committee of the Students’ Federation of India, District Secretary Shankar Majumder stated that demand has been raised concerning money refunds to all the students who have earlier submitted the forms. Besides, they also demanded waiver of games registration fees in the university sector, tuition fees under the state government, and several other fees.


Sagar Sharma, District President of the organization, stated that from August 25, they will submit memorandums to various colleges in this concern. He maintained that the organization demands the state government to stand by the needy students from the tea garden and announce a relief package for them.
