Sex racket busted in Siliguri’s hotel, 8 arrested including mastermind

Siliguri, 22nd January: Another prostitution racket has been busted in Siliguri under a joint operation conducted by DD, SOG, and police of Pradhan Nagar police station. The team exposed the illicit business running in a hotel located at Siliguri’s Salbari. The team have arrested 8 in the said case while 4 girls have been rescued.  


 

The accused have been identified as Umesh Aggarwal, Arvind Pati Tiwari, Deepak Sharma, Venkatesh Kumar Chandak, Ravi Kumar Guddu, Gautam Kumar, Alok Raj and Deepak Kumar. According to the information received, the arrested accused Umesh Aggarwal is said to be the mastermind behind the illicit business which had been running in the said hotel. Umesh would often deal with clients coming from other states. The business transaction would mainly be conducted online, where he used to send photos of girls on mobile to his clients. After this, he used to book hotels and send the said girls as per the demands of the clients. Umesh would charge a hefty amount for such illicit transactions. 


 

Reportedly, 4 girls were sent after booking a room in the name of seven people in a hotel located in the Salbari area under Pradhan Nagar police station. On receiving a tip-off, the police of SOG, DD and Pradhan Nagar police station conducted a joint operation and arrested eight people, exposing the whole racket. At the same time, 4 girls were also rescued from the spot. During this, the mastermind behind the racket, Umesh Agarwal, was also arrested. Today all the accused were presented in Siliguri court after registering a case under relevant sections.
