Several voluntary organizations launched cleanliness drive to make Mahananda river pollution-free

Siliguri, 19th March: Several voluntary organizations have been launched towards making Siliguri’s Mahananda River pollution-free. 


 

Reportedly, the members of Bandhuchal Welfare Association, Bidhannagar Welfare Society and Student Society of Siliguri have launched a cleanliness drive to make the Mahananda River free of pollution. They cleaned various waste including plastic from the river. Apart from this, they carried placards with a message to the society to save the Mahananda river and make it pollution free. 


 

In this regard, the members of the organization said that the Mahananda river is the magnificence of Siliguri. The river is getting polluted due to the dumping of waste in the river. Due to this, the members of various organizations have started the said cleanliness campaign. They further appealed to the people of the society to avoid littering and foiling the river. They requested the residents to throw dirty garbage in dustbins only.
