Siliguri, 22nd January: Under the leadership of Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, several members joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Dudhgate, Kharibari, Panitanki, Phutani More, Bengai Jote, and Naxalbari.
In this regard, Raju Bista stated that people are joining BJP, not for personal benefits, but because they have witnessed the possibilities of good governance through the initiatives taken so far by the party.
He welcomed the new members and said, “some people have refused to sell their self-respect and conscience for the lure of power and money. They have chosen to fight for the rights of our people and work towards fulfilling their aspirations, instead of compromising with a corrupt regime for a position of power”.
