Siliguri, 14th July: Tek Bahadur Ghatani, the senior journalist and editor of Himalaya Darpan daily Nepali language newspaper passed away after a long illness. He breathed his last at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital at around 9 this morning.
T. B. Ghatani is survived by his wife and one daughter. His demise has left a huge void in the media world. Journalists from the Darjeeling Hills, Assam and Sikkim have expressed deep grief over Ghatani’s untimely death.
Ghatani began his journey as a journalist in the Nepali daily Himalchuli in 1987. According to family sources, he was admitted to a private hospital in Siliguri two months ago after contracting the coronavirus.
