Siliguri, 20th August: Sensation prevailed after the dead body of a youth was found hanging from the noose inside a classroom of Ghogomali Girls High School in Siliguri.
Reportedly, the teachers of the school grew suspicious when one of the classrooms was locked even after the school opened this morning. The personnel of Ashighar Outpost were called in. Upon their arrival, the police broke the door and found the body of a young man, identified as Alok Das, hanging from the noose.
As per the information, Alok Das is a resident of Gangarampur in Dakshin Dinajpur district. He used to work as a security guard in the school at night and used to work in a gold shop during the day. The police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. An investigation to find the cause of Alok’s drastic step has been launched, as he did not leave behind a suicide note.
In this context, school principal Debayani Ghosh Das said that Alok Das had been working as a security guard in the school for three-four months. Furthermore, to ensure that the incident does not cause any fear or stress on the students, the school decided to give a leave today.
