Rajganj, 16th August: The search continues for the young man who got swept away by strong currents of water while he was fishing. Sadly, even after 24 hours of the incident, no clue regarding the youth has been found yet. The incident occurred near Fulbari Mahananda Barrage.

Reportedly, two friends went fishing on Saturday morning. During the course, 28-year-old Manik Biswas suddenly fell into the river and got swept away in the water. He is a resident of Jamurathiri of Fulbari-1 Gram Panchayat.

Biswas’ family members and neighbours were spotted waiting for any sign of him along the riverbanks ever since the mishap happened yesterday. They accused the administration of putting a blind eye to the incident and not providing any support to look for the missing youth.

According to family sources, on Saturday morning Manik along with his friend Dilip Das went to Fulbari Barrage for fishing. While crossing the Mahananda River, Manik got swept away by the water.

As soon as the news was received, the family members and neighbours and the Phansidewa Police reached the spot. A search operation for Manik was immediately launched with the help of local people, however, the youth is still missing.

Manik’s family members were seen near the accident spot today also. After which, the Phansidewa police too reached the spot.
