Fulbari, 28th July: A 25-year-old youth who was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry on Fulbari Teesta Canal Road has succumbed to his injuries, casting a pall of gloom over the area. The deceased has been identified as Soumyadeep Mondal, a resident of Paschim Dhanatala in Fulbari.
According to family members, Soumyadeep was the only son of his parents. His father works as a carpenter, and due to the family’s modest financial condition, he had been working for a long time to support them. His untimely death has left the area in mourning.
According to reports, Soumyadeep had gone to work at a motor parts shop in Fulbari Market on Monday. The shop owner had sent him to collect spare parts from a showroom in the Putimari area. While travelling on the shop owner’s scooty, he met with an accident involving a lorry on Fulbari Teesta Canal Road near Putimari.
He was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The death of the family’s only son has left his parents devastated. His body will be brought home after the post-mortem examination at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
