Ghoshpukur, 13th May: In a recent development, the Ghoshpukur police seized Rs 26 lakhs worth cash and apprehended six individuals in connection with the incident. The individuals arrested have been identified as Anil Chhetri from Triveni, along with Ashok Das, Ranak Gurung, Pintu Jaiswal, Vince Ekka, and Justin Toppo, all residents of the Ghoshpukur area.
According to reports, the operation unfolded following a tip-off received by the police regarding a group of suspects with a substantial amount of money. Subsequently, Chiranjit Ghosh, the Officer-in-Charge of Ghoshpukur police station, led a team of officers to the specified location under the jurisdiction of Ghoshpukur police station.
During this, the officials apprehended the accused six individuals for not being able to provide valid documentation pertaining to the large sum of money in their possession. On Monday, the arrested accused were presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the authorities from the Ghoshpukur outpost are probing into the entire incident.
