Siliguri, 06th February: A meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti was organized at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital today. During this, the Mayor of Siliguri and Chairman of Rogi Kalyan Samiti Goutam Deb, MLA Matigara-Naxalbari Anandamoy Barman, Hospital Superintendent Sanjay Mallick, Principal Indrajit Saha, Dean Sandeep Sengupta were present.
The meeting was presided over giving more emphasis on the safety and security of the patients being treated in the hospital. According to hospital sources, a large number of patients visit the hospital for treatment daily. From time to time, incidents like theft, and looting transpire on the hospital premises. Also, there is a possibility of the occurrence of untoward incidents due to the illegal opening of shops on the hospital premises.
Apart from this, they alleged of non-cooperation despite the initiative of installing CCTV cameras, increasing the number of policemen, and appointing security personnel.
