Road accident kills a policeman in Siliguri

Siliguri, 11th April: Sensation prevailed after a police worker was killed in a motorcycle accident in Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Rajat Sarkar. As per the report, Sarkar was a Sub-Inspector (SI) in the Ambari checkpost of NJP police station.


After the accident, he was immediately rushed to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

With the help of the CCTV footage, according to police sources, it was revealed that another vehicle crashed into Rajat Sarkar’s motorcycle. After the incident, Sarkar was seen lying on the road in a critical condition for a long time. Sarkar died due to excessive loss of blood.


As per the report, the body will be taken to the Siliguri Police Commissionerate after the post-mortem at NBMCH, where he will be given a final farewell. The body will then be taken to the Ambari outpost and will be to Sarkar’s family.
