Siliguri, 10th March: One person died in a tragic road accident in the Porajhar area adjacent to Noukaghat in Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Nimchand Agarwal, a resident of the Milanpally area.
According to local sources, the man was riding a scooty on Thursday afternoon, during which, a tanker lost control and hit him from behind, killing him on the spot.
Meanwhile, the agitated locals demanded traffic control in the area after the incident. Traffic DCP Abhishek Gupta reached the spot after receiving the news of the accident. NJP police arrived shortly after, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
