Residents panic due to surge in theft and robbery in Ward No. 23 of Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th March: A recent rise in theft cases in Siliguri’s Ward No. 23 has left residents feeling increasingly insecure both on the streets and inside their houses. The frequent occurrence of criminal activities in the area has led to an atmosphere of panic among the people.


According to reports, around midnight on Sunday, three miscreants made off with iron slabs from the sewerage in front of a flat in Ward No. 23. This entire incident was recorded on the CCTV camera installed in the location. It is to be noted that similar cases of theft have frequently occurred at several locations throughout the ward. Ward residents are grappling with a lack of security. Later, the ward residents contacted the ward councillor about the situation.

As soon as the incident was reported on Monday, the anti-crime wing of the Siliguri police station was on the scene. The cops are currently investigating the entire affair. Residents claimed that several intruders gathered in the neighbourhood in the dark of night. Miscreants are taking advantage of the occasion by executing criminal activities in the locations.
