Fulbari, 14th June: An atmosphere of tension and panic gripped the residents of Fulbari after a rusted mortar shell was found lying around in a parking lot adjacent to the Indo-Bangladesh Border in Amaidighi of Fulbari.
According to reports, the Teesta River water had carried sand and stones to the parking lot area. Similarly, the mortar shell was washed away and carried by the Teesta River. Notably, similar incidents had occurred in the Teesta flood disaster in the previous year.
The NJP police station was immediately alerted of the incident. Subsequently, the officials rushed to the scene and retrieved the mortar shell.
