Siliguri, 25th August: The Baribhasha VIP Road is inundated due to incessant downpours on Thursday overnight. From motorbike riders to common people, everyone expressed their grievances concerning the issue.
According to reports, the VIP route from the Jabravita underpass to the Bhabesh More is known to be in dilapidated condition. As a result, commuters are experiencing difficulties navigating through the huge potholes in the middle of the street while students are unable to walk to school. Additionally, a series of small accidents have occurred in the area due to the damaged condition of the road. People are taking detours to travel to their destination.
The locals protested that the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) chairman, and local representative visited and took stock of the road several times. However, the authorities have not responded in this regard. In addition, the road leading to the truck stand, entering the NJP station is also inundated due to which the common people and commuters are facing difficulties.
