Rescued kangaroo cubs to adorn Siliguri’s Bengal Safari Park

Siliguri, 04th April: The kangaroo cubs, earlier rescued from near Gajoldoba and Farabari, are likely to be shifted permanently to Siliguri’s Bengal Safari Park if they adjust to the atmosphere at the park. As the cubs were rescued in a severely weak and malnourished state, they are undergoing treatment at the said park.

According to the Bengal Safari Park officials, if all goes well, the kangaroos will be shifted to an open enclosure. However, the kangaroos will be kept away from visitors till they adapt to the environment. In this regard, Bengal Safari Park director Dawa Sangmu Sherpa said that the kangaroos have been kept under observation and are being provided with saline water.

It is to recall, on the evening of April 01, three kangaroo cubs were rescued from Gajoldoba and Farabari of the Baikunthapur division near Siliguri. After being rescued, they were taken to the Bengal Safari Park for treatment.
