Repair work of Ghoshpukur flyover starts

Phansidewa, 11th April: Repair work commenced today after cracks were noticed on the Ghoshpukur flyover of Phansidewa on Sunday. Apparently, despite seeing the crack, vehicles continued to ply the flyover for a long time. However, the Ghoshpukur Traffic Police, acting promptly, stopped all traffic on the flyover connecting National Highway-31(D) under the Ghoshpukur-Salasabari project. The road links Kolkata and Bihar. 
Meanwhile, the crack on the flyover caused outrage among the local traders and motorists. Locals alleged that they had raised their voices many times in the past regarding the crack in the flyover. 
Reportedly, it will take 15-20 days to repair the crack. However, the National Highway Management has not made any comment concerning the issue.
