Ration dealer’s son arrested on the charge of physically harassing a customer

Siliguri, 18th May: The Pradhan Nagar Police, on Sunday night, arrested Amit Shah, a ration dealer’s son under the charge of physically attacking a customer amid the nation-wide lockdown.


As per the information, a man named Bapi Dey, on Saturday accused Ward No. 3 Gurung Basty No. 4 ration dealer Madan Shah of corruption and also exposed the huge scam being carried out in ration supply. Condemning the shortage of essential commodities, Dey, complained that food grains were given to him in fewer quantities ignoring the government instructions. Upon protesting against the incident, he was beaten up by the ration dealer’s son Amit Shah as well as the other shop employees.

Following this, Dey, along with the other residents of the area lodged a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar Police station. Based on which, the police launched an operation last night and arrested the accused Amit Shah. 


The arrested accused will be produced before the Siliguri court today.
