Siliguri, 25th August: Rapid Antigen Tests have commenced in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation area. This announcement comes as good news for the citizens considering the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the city and its surrounding areas.
Reportedly, Rapid Antigen Tests are being carried out at the Municipal Primary Health Center in Ward No. 04. Sample from the person’s nose is being collected with a nasal swab and being inserted into the antigen kit. Reports are revealed within 15-30 minutes.
While several people tested positive for the virus, some tested negative despite having symptoms of the infection. In that case, their samples are being collected for the RT-PCR test.
The district administration officials have already held meetings in this regard with various market committees in Siliguri. The Rapid Antigen Test will be launched in different markets across the city, starting this week. Traders and residents of a specific market are likely to undergo the test tomorrow.
