Siliguri, 15th April: A ‘Ram Mahal’ has been constructed on ISKCON Road in Siliguri under the initiative of the ‘Shri Ram Seva Parivar’, with its inauguration scheduled on April 29.
According to the organisers, a ‘Mangal Deep’ (sacred flame) will be brought from Ayodhya for the inauguration ceremony. A delegation from the committee has already been sent to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to receive the sacred flame, which will then be brought to Siliguri to mark the inauguration rituals of the newly built Ram Mahal. The idol of Ram Lalla will also be installed.
The project has been described by the organisers as more than just a temple, positioning it as a centre for service and community welfare. A ‘Sulochana Manasi Skills Centre’ has been set up within the premises to provide skill development and employment-oriented training for unemployed youth. Arrangements for community food service (Anna Seva) have also been included for the benefit of the needy.
Spiritual leader Swami Sadanand Maharaj is expected to attend the inauguration ceremony. Preparations for the event have created a festive atmosphere in the area ahead of the inauguration.Ram Mahal inauguration planned in Siliguri
