Rakhsha Bandhan celebrated in a unique way in Bidhan Nagar

Bidhan Nagar, 03rd August: Rakhsha Bandhan was celebrated in a unique way in Bidhan Nagar under Siliguri subdivision. Like every year, the day was observed on behalf of Bidhan Nagar Women’s Welfare Society by planting trees and tying rakhis to the trees.


Reportedly, around 100 trees were planted along the Mahananda river in Muraliganj, Bidhannagar. At the same time, they also tied rakhis to the trees of the area.

Shiuli Das, Secretary of Bidhan Nagar Women’s Welfare Society stated that they plant trees every year. This year, they tied rakhis to the trees planted by the forest department on the banks of the river Mahananda. About 100 trees were also planted to prevent river erosion.
