Rajganj, 25th August: Agnimitra Paul, President of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mahila Morcha (women’s wing) visited the gang-rape-murder victim’s house on Tuesday and while addressing the media, she expressed outrage and stated that if the criminals are not punished soon, the party will shut down the entire Jalpaiguri district.
Paul stated that the victim’s family lodged a written complaint at the Rajganj police station on August 10, after the girl went missing. Two days later, the police detained one of the accused and released him shortly after. She took a jibe at the police and alleged negligence in the investigation.
She further added that on August 17, a complaint was lodged with the Superintendent of Police against Chhalimuddin Mohammad, husband of Sukhani Gram Panchayat TMC panchayat member Nazima Khatun. However, he has not been arrested so far.
Paul demanded the execution of all the accused soon and warned of closing the city if the police do not arrest the accused Chhalimuddin Mohammad.
