Fulbari, 06th December: Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman was in for a shock after he conducted a surprise check at the Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat (GP) Office. Significantly, officers and staff members received show-cause notices from the BDO for arriving late to work.

As per details, on Wednesday morning at around 10:05 am, Rajganj BDO Prashant Burman arrived at the Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat office for a surprise inspection. During this, he found that several officers and employees were late to work. Panchayat Pradhan Rafiqul Islam arrived at the office after a while. In the meantime, the majority of the staff members were absent until after 10:30 a.m. Following this, the BDO issued a show-cause notice to the officers and staff members. In addition, the health workers were reprimanded for their absence from the office.

According to BDO Prashant Barman, the office has numerous departments that serve the public by offering government services. As a result, it is unethical that civilians have to wait for officials when they arrive to receive services. He asserted that those in authority should have been present to provide immediate services to the public. He further asserted that the general public should have timely access to all government services from the Gram Panchayat office to the block offices.

About the sudden inspection, the BDO explained that the authority was to be present during office hours to provide timely services to the citizens. Consequently, an unexpected examination of the office was carried out and several officials were issued show-cause because they failed to arrive at work on time. Furthermore, strict legal action will be taken for those unable to provide valid reasoning for being late to work. He declared that all offices including 12 gram panchayats in the Rajganj block would be subject to a similar surprise inspection.

Concurrently, the BDO spoke with the visitors to the zonal office and took note of their issues. In addition, the BDO was observed conversing with young patients there for medical attention.
