Rajganj, 27th May: A large number of devotees gathered at the Hanuman temple in Rajganj for the annual puja, with a two-day religious festival beginning on Wednesday. A steady flow of devotees was seen in the temple premises since morning.
According to reports, the festival has been organised for the past 12 years by the temple construction committee of Totai Gachh–Durbagachh area in Rajganj. Along with the worship of Lord Bajrangbali, special pujas of other deities are also being conducted.
Committee members said the puja began early Wednesday morning and will continue throughout the day with rituals and offerings. A community feast (bhandara) has also been arranged for devotees.
As every year, devotees from Rajganj, Siliguri, Jalpaiguri and surrounding areas have arrived in large numbers. Religious programmes and prasad distribution will continue today and tomorrow as part of the celebrations.
