Jalpaiguri, 20th September: The Rajbangshi Samaj staged a protest with a demand to transfer North Bengal Special Task Force Pradhan Sanjay Dutta outside North Bengal.
The members of the Rajbangshi community, as well as the locals, staged a roadblock in Siliguri-Jalpaiguri highway near Swapna Barman’s house in Jalpaiguri’s Kaliaganj, on Sunday.
The protestors alleged that the Belakoba ranger Sanjay Dutta unjustly raided the Asian Games gold medal-winning heptathlete Swapna Barman’s house at Kaliaganj, Jalpaiguri for alleged illegal possession of timber. The situation however returned to normal after the CM intervened and announced his transfer.
However, as Sanjay Dutta has been brought back to North Bengal, the Rajbangshi Samaj expressed outrage and staged a roadblock today. They demanded his immediate transfer outside North Bengal. Meanwhile, heavy traffic congestion was created today in this concern.
