Siliguri, 01st October: Siliguri Town Station, which is one of the oldest stations in the city, is currently lying in a deplorable condition. The railway officials inspected the station today.
DRM of Katihar Division Shuvendu Kumar Chowdhury inspected the station on Friday. He examined both the old and new platforms and looked into the issue of encroachment. He said that there are plans to commercialize the station premises.
Recently, members of the Association of Conservation and Tourism took a special initiative on World Tourism Day to bring back the lost glory of the station. Exhibitions, paintings, and other cultural events were organized.
