Siliguri, 14th May: Tension spread across the North Bengal Medical College campus after students staged a protest against alleged corruption and paper leak in the NEET-UG examination. Members of the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) alleged that they were attacked by BJP-backed individuals during the protest.
According to AIDSO, large-scale irregularities and alleged paper leak incidents in the NEET-UG examination have put the future of lakhs of students at risk. The organisation said the protest was being carried out in the college campus demanding the abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and action against those responsible for the alleged irregularities.
The student organisation further claimed that anger has been growing across the country over repeated controversies surrounding central examinations and questions are being raised over the role of the NTA. They demanded a fair investigation into the matter along with strict punishment for those found guilty.
AIDSO also demanded the immediate arrest of the accused persons allegedly involved in the attack and appealed to all student organisations and democratic forces to unite and continue the movement.
