Siliguri, 22nd February: Pratul Chakraborty today took the oath of office as the Chairman of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. He won the election from Ward No. 24 of Siliguri as a Trinamool candidate in the SMC poll 2022.
Reportedly, Chakraborty had already been nominated for the post of chairman of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation and had submitted his nomination papers on the instructions of top Trinamool leaders from Kolkata. On Monday, he handed over his nomination papers to the Commissioner of SMC. District Magistrate S Ponnambalam administered the oath of office to the chairman of the municipal corporation today.
