Pradhan Nagar police returns lost bag to its owner within 48 hours in Siliguri

Siliguri, 24th April: In a recent development, the Pradhan Nagar police station recovered a bag containing cash and handed it over to its rightful owner within 48 hours.


As per reports, on April 22, Rabina Khatun, a resident of Pokai Jote area, was travelling by an e-rickshaw to visit a doctor. During this, Rabina’s bag accidentally fell on Champasari Road. However, Rabina realized the situation only after deboarding the e-rickshaw.

Subsequently, she approached the Pradhan Nagar police station and filed a complaint. In her complaint, she revealed that the bag contained one lakh and eight thousand rupees in cash and two mobile phones.


Based on the complaint, the crime wing team of Pradhan Nagar police station, led by Gautam Mallick, launched an investigation. The investigation commenced with the police team examining the CCTV footages and significantly recovered the bag from an individual in Champasari area.

On Wednesday, IC B.D. Sarkar handed over the bag to owner Rabina Khatun. Rabina was elated to receive her lost bag with valuables. She lauded the promptness and efficiency of the police and further thanked them for recovering the bag within 48 hours.
