Potholes on dilapidated road in Fulbari, local residents voice anger

Fulbari, 19th May: The main road in the Chaturaganj Sipaipara area under Fulbari No. II Gram Panchayat has remained in poor condition for a long time, and two days of light rain have worsened the situation. Water has accumulated on the damaged surface, forming small ponds and creating major inconvenience for residents.

Locals have expressed their anger over the continued neglect of the road, which connects Sipaipara to Bhalobasa More and serves as a vital route for daily commuters. The road is frequently used by school children and workers, with a private school, a government school, and a factory located nearby.

Residents allege that despite the road being in disrepair for several years, no serious efforts have been made for its permanent repair. The recent rains have filled the potholes with water, turning the road into a hazard zone. As a result, small and large accidents are occurring on a daily basis.

“We want this road to be repaired soon,” demanded the locals.

In response, Kishore Chandra Roy, Deputy Pradhan of Fulbari No. II Gram Panchayat, stated that bitumen was provided by the Gram Panchayat last year to fill the potholes. However, the road has again deteriorated. He informed that the issue has been communicated to District Council members, who have assured that road renovation work will commence soon.
