Potato Retail Outlets initiated by West Bengal Govt inaugurated in Mirik

Mirik, 07th November: In view of the skyrocketing prices of potatoes, retail outlets have been set up in different places across the state where potatoes are being sold at government fixed price.

Likewise, a retail outlet for potato sales initiated by the state government was inaugurated in Mirik’s Krishnanagar and Mirik Bazaar today. The outlet was formally inaugurated by Mirik SDO Ashwini Kumar Roy and Mirik Municipality Chairman L. B. Rai.

Reportedly, the state government is setting up such outlets in a joint venture with the Department of Agriculture to provide quality potatoes to the people at affordable prices. Especially as the market price of potatoes has significantly gone up.

Two self-help groups under Mirik Municipality have started operating the outlets in Krishna Nagar and Mirik Bazaar.
