Polling officials begin arriving at voting centers for second phase of LS polls on April 26

Siliguri, 25th April: The state is set for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls on April 26 with voting scheduled in three constituencies, Darjeeling, Raiganj, and Balurghat. Polling officers have begun arriving at the various polling stations from DCRC center since Wednesday morning.


According to reports, the DCRC center has been set up in Siliguri College for the Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency. This year, the Darjeeling district has a significant electorate of 17,76,898 voters. Among them, 8,95,287 are male voters, while 8,81,610 are female voters. The voting process will span across 1,999 booths in Darjeeling district, with 58 booths staffed by women workers.

It is to be noted that the voting procedure will commence from 7 AM in the morning and eventually conclude at 6 PM. Each polling booth will be under the supervision of central forces and equipped with CCTV camera surveillance.
