Jalpaiguri, 04th August: Jalpaiguri Police conducted a night-long raid in Indira Colony area of Jalpaiguri city following complaints of alleged drug-related activities and seized suspected narcotics.
According to information, residents had been alleging that drug-related activities were continuing in the area for a long time. Local youths had raised the issue before Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari when his convoy stopped in Jalpaiguri city while he was on his way to offer prayers at Jalpesh Temple.
After hearing the complaints, the Chief Minister assured action in the matter. Following this, Kotwali Police conducted an operation in the area on Monday night. Although no one was arrested during the raid, police seized suspected narcotics during the operation.
Police have stated that similar operations will continue regularly to curb such activities.
