Bagdogra, 29th February: In a recent development, the undercover cops of Bagdogra police station apprehended an individual with a country-made pistol and cartridge. The arrested accused has been identified as Chandan Das, a resident of the Bhujiapani area.
Reportedly, acting on a tip-off, the Bagdogra police launched an operation in the Bhuttabari area and halted the youth. During the search, the officials recovered a country-made pistol and cartridge from his possession.
According to police sources, the country-made pistol and cartridge were brought from Bihar to Bagdogra for illegal trade. However, the undercover cops of Bagdogra police station arrested the accused prior to the smuggling activity. On Thursday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court while the police are engaged in further investigation.
