Siliguri, 9th June: In a significant breakthrough, a notorious phone snatcher, Bhau aka Shiva Barman, was apprehended by the Pradhannagar police after conducting an operation. The accused is a resident of Durganangar Colony of Darjeeling More.
According to reports, the accused snatched phones and bags from the passersby in Darjeeling more. He also snatched the phone of the daughter of Excise Department Officer and fled from the scene. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged in the Pradhannagar Police Station.
The Pradhannagar police initiated an investigation and promptly conducted an operation after which the accused was arrested and recovered the stolen phone of the Excise Department Officer’s daughter.
According to police sources, the accused Bhau was addicted to drugs and has landed behind bars earlier, on the charge of alleged theft and snatching. Today, the accused has been produced before the Siliguri Court, while Pradhannagar police are engaged in further investigation into the entire matter.
