Cooch Behar, 12th November: On Sunday, the Tufanganj police station and the Excise Department launched a campaign against illegal cannabis plantations in several areas including Sholadanga and Senpara of Balrampur I Gram Panchayat (GP) under Tufanganj Block I.
As per reports, the police and excise department launched a tip-off raid and destroyed about 20 bighas of cannabis cultivation. In this regard, Excise Department official Siju Barman revealed that illegally grown cannabis in the residential and agricultural land had been destroyed. He added that the campaigns would continue even in the future.
