Naxalbari, 26th September: In a foiled attempt of robbery, four miscreants were successfully arrested from the Tukuriya More of Naxalbari on Monday night. The arrested accused have been identified as Shubham Tamang (27), Vishal Chhetri (20), Sudeep Dewan (30), and Shivam Tamang (27), residents of Pokhriabong in Sukhia Pokhari.
According to information, the police were alerted that a number of youths had gathered at Tukriya More to execute a robbery. Acting on the tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the area and apprehended the four accused while the rest evaded.
During the investigation, the police recovered three rods, two knives, and a hammer from the accused. In addition, a four-wheeler used in the incident was also seized. On Tuesday, the alleged robbers were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. At present, the police are probing the entire incident.
