Police arrest one on charge of robbing a woman in Siliguri

Siliguri, 31st August: In a shocking incident, two unidentified thugs on a two-wheeler snatched a gold necklace from a woman who was strolling down a street. The incident occurred on Sunday night a week prior in the Sukanta Pally area in Shaktigarh, Siliguri. The New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station made a significant achievement and apprehended one of the miscreants in connection to the case. The arrested accused has been identified as Imran Rahman, a local of Shaktigarh in Siliguri.


According to reports, the woman is a resident of Ambikanagar Village No. 1, Fulbari. It has been learnt that, on Sunday, the aforementioned woman had gone to visit her daughter in the Sukanta Pally neighbourhood. In the evening, she was returning home when two bike borne thugs suddenly snatched away the gold chain from her neck and fled the scene.

Following this, the woman reported a written complaint at the NJP police station. Subsequently, the authorities successfully nabbed the accused Imran Rahman and seized the vehicle used in the crime from his possession. Investigation has been launched into the matter.
