Rajganj, 09th November: Rajganj police arrested four traders and confiscated a large quantity of gutka, on Tuesday. The arrested accused have been identified as Amit Ghosh (45) of Rajganj School Para, Rocky Mohammad (30) of Subhash Pally, Arun Thakur (46) of Fatapukur, and Saran Saha (26) of Jhanjupara.
Police raided in Rajganj Bazar and Fatapukur. Traders were warned not to sell tobacco and pan masala and gutka containing nicotine. Besides, raids were carried out in several shops and a large quantity of gutka was confiscated. Police arrested four traders in the incident.
Incidentally, the state government has banned the manufacture, storage, and sale of tobacco and nicotine-containing gutka and pan masala for one year starting from November 07. Following the instructions, the Rajganj police and Belakoba outpost police launched operations.
