Phansidewa Accident Update: Siliguri Mayor visits 26 injured, 2 killed

Siliguri, 15th May: In a significant update to the horrifying accident in Phansidewa, two individuals have lost their lives while 26 others are injured after the passenger-laden pickup van overturned. Significantly, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb had travelled to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) and met with the injured.


As per reports, two pickup vans were boarding passengers from Helagachh of Phansidewa to a wedding ceremony in Bihar. During this, a pickup van boarding 30 people accidentally went out of control and overturned in an attempt to overtake a truck. The incident resulted in the passengers to suffer major injuries.

Upon receiving the information, officials of the Phansidewa police station and Ghoshpukur Outpost rushed to the scene. Subsequently, the injured were rescued and transported to the Phansidewa Rural Hospital and later to NBMCH where the doctors declared two of them dead.
